T.O.P. Program for Competitive Teams

Tier One Program Mission statement:  The purpose for creating the tier one program is to provide additional training and organizational support for Randolph teams and players,  U11 and up, that wish to compete at the highest level of competition in the city and the state.  They would be the Randolph Soccer Club’s TOP teams.

Training program for coaches and players:

·       One or two 1.5 hour Team training sessions per week with the coach and assistant coach coordinated with the Tier One Program.

·       One 1.5 hour Club training session per week with the Club trainer.  The coaches will participate in the session as assistants to the trainer.  The focus of the Club training will be technical and tactical development of the players.

·       The Club training and Team training will be coordinated.  Focusing on the same aspect of the player development in a given week and throughout the season.

·       Written game evaluations will be conducted by the coach on a regular basis to be used as a measure of the success of training and as a guide for the focus of additional training.

·       The Club training sessions will be available to individual players within the club.  The player will need to commit to a minimum of half a season.

Team Building and Selection of Players:

·       The method of team building and player selection (tryouts, auditions, etc.) is left to the discretion of the coach.  Standard player contact guidelines set down by PCJSL will be followed.

·       The Club will aid in coordinating tryouts.

·       The coaching director will be available for evaluation of players during the selection process.

TOP Registration and Training Fees:

·       All team members will pay total fees at the beginning of the season.

·       Fees are:

§      $105 Club Registration

§      $100 Training Fee

§      $20 for Second Adidas Jersey

§      $15 Tier One Team Fee

·       Covered by the Registration and Training Fees:

§      PCJSL Field and Referee fees

§      State Tier One registration fees

§      Uniform:  Black shorts, white socks, two jerseys (red and white) and  TOP practice t-shirts

§      Club training six hours per month for seven months September through March

§      Talk to your coach to register for the program

Team Evaluation:

·            Any team U-11 and up can apply to be in TOP.  The team, its coaches and its player and parents will be evaluated to make sure that they are ready for the commitment.  The Randolph Soccer Club Board of Directors will make the final decision.  Evaluation criteria:  coaching experience, ability and aptitude to coach at a higher level, a strong nucleus of players to build a team around, and the support of a team manager and parent volunteers.

·            Any Randolph player can participate in the Club training sessions but will be subject to evaluation and approval by the coaching director.

·            Once a team is given the green light, the commitment is binding for one season.

·           More than one team can be a tier one team in any one age group or gender (something that will be taken into account during evaluation).  Some age groups might not have a TOP team.
